If you are hanging around the internet reading tech stuff, all of these might sound familiar.
The Holiday season has passed and it might be too late for me to tell you to not get a new phone yet, but if you haven't, you might want to wait out a little bit, and here's why--
Google's Project Ara. Project Ara is all about creating a phone that is meant to last. Phonebloks has started this concept of a modular phone (if you are confused about this idea just see the video below) and it looks like Google has actually been considering this too for quite a while so they ended up working together.

Google and Phonebloks has been working on this for over a year now and this is actually happening now!
Basically, the idea is that your phone is fully customizable hardware-wise. The way I see it, it is the whole concept of Android, put into hardware. Well isn't that every techie's dream!

Good news is the target release date is January 2015. Bad news is we are only few days away to the end of the month and no phone yet. I have been waiting for this since the idea has sprouted so couldn't explain how excited I am! I have no idea when it's going to be available in the Philippines, if it will be at all. I just hope the first release is internationally usable so it's reasonable to score one. We have My Shopping Box after all, don't we.
Project Ara's success will surely be a game changer... and I can't wait.
