#Burgerventures: The Burger Project
03:07
The Burger Project has been out there for a long time, so most of you might have already went down there to pig out years before I did.
I've decided to give them a try and visited their Makati Branch somewhere along Jupiter Street (right across Bureau of Immigrations) a couple of days ago.
The place was really small but it looked like they have managed to squeeze tables enough for about 30 people.
I went there with more than 10 people but we got seated right away. Honestly, I don't think this place makes quite the buzz in the area. (Or did we just come in a really good time?) No lines outside. No people waiting.
The Burger Project, as what the name suggests, let's you build your own burger. They give out forms for you to fill out with your order by ticking all those shenanigans you want in between the buns if you're in that sort of thing, if not, you can choose from their list of pre-built combinations.
So this is how mine looks like. I called this one Burgay. I know it's lame, but they were forcing me to give it anything! (LOL)
All I have in here is a 100% pure beef patty (probably a quarter or a third), lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and mozarella. Now that I think about it, this is basic stuff, why did I want it customised anyway?
Their bread choices were usual so I got a sesame bun, I'm guessing, slightly toasted. The veggies were perfect. Crisp and fresh. The mozarella is mozarella. What can I say. The sauces were basic.
For the sides they have thick cut fries that tasted like sweet potatoes but they weren't so bad. Their onion rings were, I dare say it, THE. BEST. (Can you see it there behind my burger?) I don't recall having onion rings better than those!
Now to the most important part of it all: the patty. The flavor is okay. It was pretty loose, though I can't say it was bad(?) because I forgot to tell them to have it well-done so it's partially my fault.
The prices are around Php 200-Php 300 each, and the sides were less that Php 100.
Over-all, I think it was an okay experience. I'm suspecting the Mozarella killed the taste, so I'd try without that next time. I don't know if I'm coming back any time soon for the burger, but I'll definitely come back for those onion rings.
