LTFRB just won't leave Uber alone.
If you have read my previous posts, you probably know by now how much I love Uber. Like if Uber is a person she's my best friend. You know what, screw it. It is indeed my bestfriend. Uber, when I found out about it, I was astounded to know that such service exists and I used it regularly since then. The first time I heard about LTFRB coming after Uber, I was outraged. And now that they are actuallymaking a move opting to shut them down, I just lost my faith in the government. Completely.
I don't know who they are doing this for, if it's a tax-related issue or an issue of cab companies--I don't know. Either way, it's just an outright manifestation of our Crab Mentality. We are not moving forward. Uber is doing a very good job making most if not all our lives easier. It's not something that we are encouraging the entire society to patronise, but it is undoubtedly very helpful the crowd it caters to.
Uber is the best thing to ever happen to public transportation here in the Philippines. This private company they are shutting down is doing their job for them making everyday transportation safe and convenient while they sit around and get paid doing god-knows-what.
Let's admit it. The public transportation in the country is HOPELESS. It sucks. There are no other words left to describe it.
If there's a private company that can make it all better, then why stop it?
