Giving photography a "shot"
02:50
Pun intended.
And this ends my search for my everyday camera, and the chose one is, dun dun dun...
Fujifilm Finepix 2980!
It wasn't an easy choice, though. The little bits of girliness I left inside me easily subsided and this black bulky rugged piece of shooter finally won me over.
Photographers might raise their eyebrows up the clouds if I make a review about this, don't mind me at all because I will just obsessively post pictures of it here nothing more nothing less.
Yes it's very ironic that I am posting pictures of the camera I said I needed... taken with my phone... which is a bummer... and the exact same reason why I am getting a camera in the first place. That just totally beats the purpose, but oh well!
So for those who don't know, the Fujifilm FinePix S2980 is an update to last year's Fujifilm FinePix S2950 and features an 18x optical zoom lens equivalent to 28-504mm and 14 megapixel sensor. And it's not like I know what I'm talking about. I got just figured that out from ephotozine.com.
Got mine from CameraHaus, they sell it for P6,990 which comes with lots of accessories I didn't expect. It came with 4 rechargeable AA batteries with a charger, 8GB Transcend SDHC card, Fujifilm Camera bag, and then inside the box, 4x non-rechargeable batteries, a strap, lens cover and a lens cover hook.
What I loved about it is
(1) the glorious existence of a view finder, something that even the best smartphone camera doesn't even have (correct me if I'm wrong), it's electronic, though. But it's good enough for me. Saves a lot of battery, too.
(2) it totally looks like a miniature DSLR which is really cute cute IMO.
(3) it takes pretty decent shots way better than my phone's camera (Xperia SPLTE)
(4) the start-up and shutdown is snappy
(5) doesn't burn a whole in your pocketIt's a little too hard to complain because I believe for it's price, it's definitely a steal! But just for nitpicking's sake, here's what I didn't like about it
(1) the LCD display is grainy and sometimes a lot of brighter spots show up when I'm in a low-lit area
(2) it performs a lot better than my camera phone but I don't think pick up the same backlight color like my iPhone does (this one looks like my fault)
What I like about it:
Well it looks like it gives advance point-and-shoot justice.
